Succession Planning System |
Overview. SPS is a system for identifying and developing internal personnel with the potential to fill key or critical organizational positions. Succession planning ensures the availability of experienced and capable employees that are prepared to assume these roles as they become available. |
Nominating Critical Employees. To nominate employees as Critical, click on the “Edit” Link, select the corresponding Check Box and press on the “Update” Link. Pressing on the “Cancel” Link will ignore the changes. Deselecting the corresponding Check Box and pressing on the “Update” Link would result in denominating the Critical Employee. Pressing the Remove Icon on the table removes a selected Employee from the Succession Planning System. This functionality is availably only for HR Administrators and HR Managers. |

Searching employees within the SPS. The data of Critical Employees can be filtered by: - Selecting Division from the Dropdown Menu above the table; - Typing parts of the Employee’s Name/Surname; - Selecting/deselecting Critical Employees Check Box; And pressing the Filter Button at the end. For example selecting only the Employees from the division “Board” with “s” in their names, would display the results above. Filtered results are displayed immediately after pressing the Filter Button. All these functionalities are accessibly for HR Managers and HR Administrators. |
Employee Profile has several sections: • General (displaying Employee’s Name, Manager’s Name, Division and Site’s names) • Personal Resume Section • Formal Qualifications • Other Development • Work Experience • Major Achievements • Career Aspirations • Willing to Relocate • Business Unit Management Capability Review Summary • Psych Test Results • Succession Planning Opportunities Pressing on the Print icon, will print the Employee Profile page. |

Nominating Critical Roles.
To nominate roles as Critical, the corresponding Check Boxes have to be selected and after the selection “Save” button pressed. “Save” button is located on the bottom of the page. Deselecting the corresponding Check Box and clicking on the “Save” button would result in denominating the Critical Role. Pressing the Remove Icon located rightmost in the table will result in removing the corresponding role from the Roles in the Succession Planning System. This functionality is availably only for HR Administrators and HR Managers. |
Assigning Employees to Roles.
Clicking on the “Select an Employee” Button, dialog page for selecting an Employee will appear. Selecting Nik Vazisiv from the list and clicking on the OK button will generate the results represented in the diagram above. Selected employee details can be viewed by clicking on the selected Employee Link. The table displays all Roles which have been assigned or can be assigned to the selected Employee. To assign the Employee to a Role, the Check Box Fields (“0-12 months”, “1-3 years”, “3+ years”) for the particular period of time have to be selected after clicking on the corresponding “Assign” Link and saved by clicking on the “Update” Link. “No Of Successors” Field shows how many Employees are potential successors for that position. This functionality is availably only for HR Administrators and HR Managers. |

Roles Summary Page shows all roles in the Succession Planning System with theirs potential successors. Pressing on particular SPS Job Description Link will result in displaying the SPS Job Profile for that particular SPS Job Description. Pressing on the Successor’s Link will result in displaying the Employee Profile. This functionality is availably only for HR Administrators and HR Managers. |
Roles Summary Report The summary can be filtered by: - Selecting a Site from the Dropdown Menu; - Selecting a Division from the Dropdown Menu; - Selecting a Job Family from the Dropdown Menu; - Typing part of the SPS Job Description; - Typing part of the Employee’s full name who is a potential successor; And pressing the Filter Button on SPS Roles Summary page. For example if we need to filter the potential successors with “IRIS” in their names, we type “IRIS” in the Successor Text Box and press the Filter Button. Pressing on the Print Icon on SPS Summary page will result in printing the filtered selection in PDF as above. This functionality is availably only for HR Administrators and HR Managers. |

Employees Summary Page shows the roles available to the Employees in three different time periods, 0 to 12 months, 1 to 3 years and more than 3 years. Pressing on particular Employee Link will result in displaying the Employee Profile for that particular Employee. Pressing on a Role Opportunity Link will result in displaying the SPS Job Profile for that role. This functionality is availably only for HR Administrators and HR Managers. |
Employees Summary Report. The summary can be filtered by: - Selecting a Site from the Dropdown Menu; - Selecting a Division from the Dropdown Menu; - Typing part of the Employee’s name; - Selecting the exact SPS Job Description from the Dropdown Menu; And pressing the Filter Button on SPS Employees Summary page. For example, if we need summary of all employees that have been assigned to a role with SPS Job Description “Job Description 1”, we select “Job Description 1” from the SPS Description Dropdown Menu and press on the Filter button. Pressing on the Print Icon on SPS Employees Summary page will result in printing the filtered Employees’ Summary selection in PDF format as per above.
